Flamenco Technique and Choreography Workshop “ALEGRIA” Starting Saturdays May 12,  2-3:30pm This workshop is geared toward intermediate and advanced students. This workshop is unique and different from a regular class as it is an an intimate,  focused encounter with flamenco. In the first hour we practice technique. The second hour is accompanied by flamenco guitar and dedicated to the study of choreography. Each class builds upon the previous, and with each class meeting you will see yourself grow and progress in this art. Intro to Flamenco Dance: SEVILLANAS Saturdays starting May 12, 3:30-4:30pm   In addition to my "ALEGRIAS" workshop starting this Saturday and upon popular request, I will also be teaching an introduction to flamenco dance class immediately following the workshop. We will be learning "Sevillanas" which is a very popular Spanish folk dance originating in Sevilla that is danced in couples throughout Southern Spain's parties and festivals. Everyone is welcomed, no flamenco dance experience necessary!  I will need 6 students to kick off the class. Flamenco “Por Fiesta” Wednesdays starting May 2 "Por Fiesta" 6:30-8:00pm  This class is geared toward the advanced beginner or intermediate student. I will focus on the rhythms "por fiesta" or the party dances like tangos, buleria and rumba.  These are the social dances in flamenco and I expect it will be a lot of fun!      Class Fee $120 for 4 consecutive classes (6 hours of class) or $35 drop in. -Class will close at 12 students...   -Please note that all sales are final, there are no refunds, make-ups or exchanges.    Location   The Pretenders Studio   1635 16th Street   Santa Monica, CA 90404      The Pretenders Studio is located on the East side of 16th Street, across the street from Memorial Park directly between Olympic Blvd. and Colorado Ave in Santa Monica.      Parking   All students are welcome to park in the following areas:          ~ On 16th Street one side of the street is free public parking and the other side is metered.        ~ Additionally, Olympic and Colorado have metered parking on both sides of the street.       ~ After 5pm students are welcome to park in our 5 reserved spaces in the parking lot for class.
